Philosophical counseling

[Swedish version here.]

I have studied philosophy for more than 10 years and though I like the research environment, I also feel strongly that the methods and substance of philosophy can be of great use in everyday life. I therefore try to share the philosophy that I know with anyone who is sincerely interested.

One way to do this is through philosophical counseling – an international movement that is sometimes viewed as competing with therapy, sometimes as coaching or guided self-exploration, without therapeutic aims. I am currently finishing my education as philosophical councilor with the Norwegian association of philosophical counseling* and offer private sessions by agreement.

I also enjoy leading philosophical discussions in groups. I have held several public seminars at such venues as the Stockholm City Library, the Philosophy Club of Stockholm University and Åfallet Forest Festival. At these seminars as well as in my many years of teaching philosophy at the Royal Institute of Philosophy (KTH) and Uppsala University I strive to facilitate discussion and understanding, hopefully helping the group to bring out interesting and worthwhile thoughts. I also have some professional experience facilitating group discussion more generally, feel free to contact me with ideas.
